Turkey, pie, mashed potatoes, stuffing — before the feast, why not get outside (and maybe give back!). Turkey Trots are a great way to get active with the whole family before or on Thanksgiving day. Here are five turkey trots in Pittsburgh to look forward to.

2. South Park HS Mini-THON® Turkey Trot 5K
November 24th, 2024
The South Park High School Mini-THON Turkey Trot is more than a race; it’s a call to action in the fight against childhood cancer. This independent fundraising event benefits the Four Diamonds Fund at Penn State Health Children’s Hospital, providing children with high-quality cancer care at no cost to their families. Every registration fee and dollar raised contributes directly to research and care. Support the cause by running, walking, or cheering on participants in the heart of South Park. If you live at our Camden Village neighborhood, you’ll only be about 6 miles away from the start line!
3. YMCA Turkey Trot
November 28th, 2024
A Pittsburgh tradition, the YMCA Turkey Trot has been bringing families together for 34 years to support the YMCA food pantry and the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank. This community-focused race draws over 7,000 participants each year. With several race options – a 5-Mile Run, a Double Gobble (5 Mile + 5K), a 5K, and a 1-Mile Family Fun Run – there’s something for every runner, walker, or stroller. Can’t make it in person? Join the virtual race from wherever you are, with proceeds going to fight food insecurity in the region.
4. Gratitude Run
